Mamdouh Habashi

From 1957 to 1969 finishing School in Cairo

From 1969 to 1973 Study of Architecture in Cairo University, Faculty of Engineering and active participation in the Students Movement of 1972

From 1973 to 1982 Study of Civil Engineering in the “Technische Universität Berlin” (West). At that time:

1972 first arrest in the Students Movement and 1986 second arrest in a left organization case 

Since 1983 I live in Cairo and work actively in many civil society organizations:

1987 participated in founding of the AARC “Arab & African Research Center”, now Board Member

2002 participating in founding of AGEG “Anti Globalization Egyptian Group”

2003 participating in founding of “Democratic Engineers”

2003, 2004 and 2005 responsible for the organization of the “Cairo Conference”, the International Solidarity Action to support Resistance in Palestine and Iraqand against the corporate driven capitalist globalization 

2007 participating in founding of “EL HELALI Foundation for Liberties” to defend actively the rights of Workers, Peasants and Marginalized and help them organizing themselves.

2010 I have become Vice President of the World Forum for Alternatives WFA.

2011 co-founder of the Egyptian Socialist Party, which is still under construction.
